Reiners Contemporary Art launches COUNTERPOINT, a year-long curatorial program in Vienna, presented at Casa Vienna in collaboration with Viajart Foundation.
The first exhibition, El teatro de las cosas / Das Theater der Dinge, brings together Florian Herzog and Flávia Junqueira. Working from distinct practices, both artists intervene in our perception of familiar objects and spaces. Their works open up a dialogue around the image, staging, and what architecture or an object can come to evoke.
COUNTERPOINT takes its name from musical counterpoint: distinct voices retain their individual identities while building a relationship with one another. This idea will guide the exhibition program that Reiners Contemporary Art will develop in Vienna over the coming year.
Located in Spittelberg, Casa Vienna is a cultural space of Viajart Foundation. Reiners Contemporary Art is responsible for the artistic direction and exhibition program, while Viajart Foundation provides the conceptual framework and cultural context of Casa Vienna. The collaboration brings together two independent institutions in a space conceived as a meeting point for contemporary art, music, and other disciplines.
