Smék's research is often related to the processes of adaptation of the body in stressful situations, especially with regard to the female body.

Smék holds a master's degree in Visual Arts from the State University of Campinas (Brazil) and a degree in Corporal Arts from the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (Brazil).
In 2021 he presented 'La danza del cuerpo sin cabeza', Smék's first solo exhibition at Central Galeria.
