2019 Museo de Minerales Andrés del Castillo, Lima, Peru

ELEMENTOS EXTRAÑOS

From an interest in crystal healing and a series of visits to the Mineral Museum, "Strange Elements" is formed. This room compares and questions the healing treatments and knowledge of the lands and minerals in Peru. It recreates an Andean healing ceremony table that also represents an imaginary medical room with curtains dividing the table. This contains a series of remedies and ceramic tools, along with minerals that are part of the museum's collection. "Strange Elements" prompts us to question what kind of remedies we are seeking today. What illness do we truly suffer from? Are we living in sickness? What is the origin of pharmaceuticals? Is science our new cure, belief, or religion?

This series was exhibited at the Museo de Minerales Andrés del Castillo, Lima, Peru, in 2019.
